Kenya Music Week 2004

As we looked into launching the product into the market and sell the concept to the prospective ,sponsors, exhibitors as well as industry stake holders Kenya Music Week’s main Objects have were:-

i)   Provide an opportunity for Kenya Music Industry to market their goods to the public
ii)  Connect the industry with the consuming public for the purpose of market feedback
iii) Educate the Public on Industry issues including but not limited to marketing, distribution and copyright.
iv) Create an accessible forum whereby industry stakeholders can network and interact to produce solutions for industry problems.etc

Being the first ever event to be held in the republic of Kenya , we had the involvement of several government   bodies that made it a success for the Management team. Despite the little butterflies the event was successful, let’s get a feel of what it was like .

Highlights:- In the house we  had in attendance the likes of Dj Ck a prominent business man among the businesses  he owns includes  a very popular radio station( Capital FM 98.4), Attitude, Monique, Poxi Pressure( Musicians  in the industry),

Educational workshop:- Were had the Kenya Music stake holders in attendance Jennifer Shamallah the director of  MCSK,Pauline Mcharo (Kenya Copyright office)  David Muriithi( Music Sanfronteers) , Suzanne Kibukosya (Serenade Music),Wanjiru kiriro(Consumer Insight)Susan Omanga ( Exclamation Marketing), Poxi Presha( Independent
Trade:-Our very first venture into the market and we had over 50 traders on board to support the objectives of Kenya Music Week, the list was endless from schools, record companies, Artist management companies, just to name but a few:- Homeboyz Entertainment, Soul Sounds Limited, Music Copyright society, Capital FM, A.I records, Blue Zebra Limited, The friendship company, Capital real-time

Show case performances:- The stage was a hive of activity with the likes of: - Attitude, Bamboo, Bring it on Breakdancers, Cap –ten, Cheche Group, DJ Adrian, Doobeez, El-Spark, Harry Kimani, Henrie Mutuku, Mamlaka Choir, Mercy Myra,  Mellow Dee, Mzee Ngozi, Ukoo Flani MauMau.
